About me
I'm Xiaofei Yang (Young), an interdisciplinary designer and food innovator. I got both MA and MSc degrees in Innovation Design Engineering at the Royal College of Art and the Imperial College London in 2020.
From cultural creative products to food innovation design, my works tend to explore the relationship between humans and objects in the digital era. I question the existing norm and bring new value from reflection.
I have focused on food innovation during my two years in IDE, from helping children battle ADHD with food to the graduation project of leveraging cellular agriculture. People have emotional feelings about food which is the "empathy" that the designer wants to express. That's the reason I use food as a design topic with a diverse perspective, combining design strategies and emerging technologies to create work with social impact.
